Fire in the Valley

Valley of Fire State Park, Overton, Nevada

The last light of the day slips away over the horizon in Valley of Fire State Park in southern Nevada. Valley of Fire, situated approximately 50 miles east of Las Vegas, derives its name from red sandstone formations, formed from great shifting sand dunes over 150 million years ago.
